With One Mind for Life

Prof. and Dr. Kim Pyong Suk of 80 years old, a lecturerof the Grand People’s Study House, who is a labor hero and merited scientist, is a good mother who trained her two sons to be officers the Korean People’s Army, educators and scientists. And she is also a merited scientist who has fulfilled her assignments for the development of the country’s economy and the improvement of the people’s standard of living, while defending her platform for over 50 years.

It was not easy for her to fulfill her duty assumed before the family and society as a daughter-in-law, a wife of educator and the mother of two children.

She was always busy with giving lectures to students in the lecture room of the Grand People’s Study House in the daytime and doing household affairs in the night.

However, she overcame all the hardships, regarding them as tasks she should do as a woman and an educator.

Sometimes she had to leave her home for the factories and enterprises across the country for a long time to solve the knotty technical problems and wrote more than 100 letters all night for sending the latest technical data to the audience.

The most annoying thing for her in those days was that she had not enough time.

But she had completed the research projects she undertook for herself including the manufacture of a large oxygen separator and the establishment of far-infrared heating technology of our style, thus bringing considerable benefits to the country. What touches the people is that her appearance of devotion remains unchanged even now of her 80 years old as she did in her youthful days.

Therefore, the Party repeatedly put her on the eminence of honor.

Invariable Way with Loyalty and Patriotism

Kim Yong Sim, a weaver at the 5th weaving shop of the Sariwon Textile Mill, has worked hard with loyalty and patriotism for over 30 years.

There are not only delightful days but also difficult days. She often recollects the arduous period.

She suffered difficulties in living when she got married to a mechanic working at the same mill and became a mother.

Some of her friends left the textile mill for the sake of their families, but she has kept her post suffering all difficulties, aware that the country guarantees family happiness and future of children and keeping her worksite is the way for making the country prosper.

She has worked with the will to devote herself to the country so that she can proudly say to her children that she tried to overcome the country’s hardships.

She has fulfilled her two- or three-year work assignments in a year and voluntarily trained dozens of newcomers into skilled workers.

Even now she is working hard with vigor as she did in her youth. She became a merited weaver and is respected by all the officials and employees of the textile mill.

By Bringing Up 20 Orphans

Kim Son Nyo, a farmer at the Kwirak Farm in Kyonghung County, is a meritorious person of socialist patriotism.

She is a worthy farmer who brought up 20 orphans from her girlhood.

Some people suggested her resigning farming because of her difficult job to take care of many orphans.

In fact, it was very hard to do farm work while bringing up many children. Preparing meals, washing clothes, etc. reduced her sleeping hours.

Sometimes, she thought that she would give up her job. But, she redoubled her pledge to do farm work well and bring up the children well.

Later, the children grew up to be farmers and she formed a family sub-workteam with the children and voluntarily took charge of the sterile land.

She tried to bring up the children to be genuine persons devoting themselves to the country.

Kim Son Nyo worked hard together with the children to bring about a rich harvest and donated a lot of crops to the country.

Now she works hard as a model of the children on the field.
