Korean Water Deer of Mt Kuwol, Natural Monument

Hydropotes inermis (water-deer) belongs to family Cervidae.

Body length of water deer is about 90-100cm and its weight is about 16-20kg.

Its appearance is similar to musk deer, but a little bigger.

The habitat of Korean water deer of Mt Kuwol is in the areas of Woljong-ri, Anak County and Churung-ri and Kohyon-ri of Samchon County.

Korean water deer of Mt Kuwol was registered as a natural monument and it is protected and propagated under the deep care of the state thanks to our Party’s policy on protecting animals.
