New Branch School in Remote Mountain Village

A few months ago, Pochon-ri of Myongchon County was unusually crowded.

The first lessons were to be given at Munam Branch of Hwanggok Primary School newly built for eight pupils.

The small playground of the branch school located at the foot of Pakdal Pass was filled with pupils, their parents and other villagers.

How was the branch school newly arranged in such a remote mountain village?

A year ago, officials of the county Party committee had a meeting as concerns the branch school construction.

Previously on that day, the senior official of the county Party committee had toured Pochon-ri and had realized that the branch of the primary school there was old and had quite a few shortcomings.

Saying about that, the senior official noted that education is an undertaking of everlasting value for the future of the country and that it is our Party’s intention to conduct education in a far-reaching manner looking ahead into the distant future, not in a shortsighted way.

Consequently, the branch school construction was conducted on a full scale at the foot of Pakdal Pass where only silence settled.

Better still, other branch schools in the county were remodeled all at the same time.

Indeed, it was thanks to the benevolence of the socialist education system that a new branch school with even a cozy playground was built in an out-of-the-way village and first lessons were given.

People shed tears of excitement out of gratitude to our Party which understood the desire of the parents and built a new branch school for them.

Four Orders Barber Received

Kang Myong Sun, who is working as a barber at Undok Health Complex in Songchon County, has several orders including the Order of National Flag Third Class and Labor Order.

Whenever she sees it, she is often moved to tears by the gratitude to our system which gives the ordinary people a priceless honor.

It was more than ten years ago when she was awarded the Order of National Flag Third Class.

Kang Myong Sun was greatly surprised.

Kang has devoted her conscience to her job with a resolve to repay the benevolence of the country which has conferred a state commendation on her who had worked only in an occupation silently.

On all such occasions, the country highly praised her sincere sweats.

Those four orders are the priceless commendations that anybody who loves one’s job and strives to work harder in our society where the people become master can receive.

Even in Short Line of Message

Days ago, Pak Yong Hwa, a war veteran living in Saepyol-dong, Tonghungsan District, Hamhung City, received a message.

It was the congratulatory message sent from Ri Chol Jin, an editor of the publishing house in Hamhung University of Pharmacology, who had gone to the rehabilitation site of the flood-hit areas of Jagang Province as a shock brigade member, on Pak’s birthday.

The message, full of congratulations and heartfelt respect, warmed the old woman’s heart.

The war veteran Pak recollected with deep emotion the days since she formed a relationship with Ri .

Ri had used to visit the veteran’s house with his mother since his childhood and his mind for respecting the revolutionary forerunners remained unchanged until now when he became a householder after graduation from university.

Ri’s message was not long.

But this short line reflects the noble spiritual world of the people in our society who regard it as their moral obligation to respect the revolutionary forerunners.

Sincerity for Miners

On last October 10 some people visited the house of An Chang Min residing in the 13th People’s Neighborhood Unit of Chongnam Workers’ District, Mundok County.

They are O Kum Ok, the neighborhood unit head, and other neighbors. Looking at their figures who congratulated his family on holiday, An Chang Min was moved to tears by sincerity of the neighbors working at the Anju Area Coal Mining Complex, who have always paid deep attention to his family.

Their village is called colliers’ village as there are many coalminer families, and such a fact is an extremely ordinary happening.

Not long ago, O Kum Ok and other neighbors visited a coalminer who was suffering from an unexpected illness and handed over many materials for tonics to make him recover his health soon.

Indeed, they are kind-hearted neighbors.
