Valuable Successes Made by Upholding Party’s Childcare Policy

Politics 2024.11.25.

The Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea convened in June, 2021 set it as the most important policy to provide more improved conditions for the upbringing of children, the future of the country, even at the cost of huge sum of money.

In his historic policy speech delivered at the Fifth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK and in his letter to the participants in the 9th Congress of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un stressed once again the need to increase the milk production, develop the milk processing technology and ensure the quality of milk products. The Sixth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly adopted the new DPRK Law on Childcare, thus providing a legal guarantee for implementing the Party’s childcare policy.

Since the enforcement of the Party’s childcare policy, hundreds of tons of milk powder have been supplied to a million and hundreds of thousands of children from seven months after birth to six years of age across the country until now. In view of it the amount of dairy products consumed in a year reaches to tens of thousands of tons, approaching hundreds of thousands of tons for three years.

All provinces, cities and counties have made great successes in the work to increase the production of the dairy products by their own efforts true to the noble intention of the General Secretary who made it a policy of the Party to supply the children across the country with nutritive foodstuffs including the dairy products at the state’s expense and clearly indicatedthe detailed tasks and ways for its implementation.

A lot of stock-farms, equipped with facilities needed for breeding the milch cows and producing the dairy products, have been built across the country to lay a foundation for milk production.

According to data available this year, South Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces have newly built or remodeled the goat farms in cities and counties, thus increasing tens of thousands of more goats and milch cows than before.

And the production processes of dairy products have been newly built or renovated to increase 1.5 times the output of dairy products.

Such proud realities of bringing the bright smile and happiness to the children across the country and taking charge of their beautiful dreams and future is a proud picture that can be found only in the socialist system of our country.
