Treasure of Colliers’ Family

Jin Mun Chol, head of the Coal-mining Company No. 3 at the Pit No. 1 of the Myonghak Mine, is a faithful collier defending his worksite with pure conscience. That’s not just because he was born and grew up there.

He was much influenced by his father who was a famous collier of the mine.

His father, who always regarded it as the joy of a collier to fulfill the daily production plan, taught his family about the duty of colliers.

Jin Mun Chol, who started his work at the mine like his father, worked by the sweat of his brow to increase the coal production of the country.

After coming in charge of a company, he made efforts to turn it into an enterprising and harmonious group and devised and applied several technical innovation proposals so as to fulfill the production assignment for the company every year.

Our Party put him forward and lavished him with glory.

He took part in several festive ceremonies, had photo sessions with Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un and was awarded the official commendation of the Chairman.

Those photos and the commendation are kept as the treasure of the colliers' family.

His eldest daughter who was demobilized from military service in October last year and got so impressed by the great glory bestowed upon his father, an ordinary collier, resolved to work at the mine generation after generation.

Today, Jin’s eldest son-in-law and second daughter have also joined them at the mine.

In Order to Find More Work

Among those who volunteered to work at the raw material base station of Songchon County out of excitement at the news that the respected General Secretary made a historic speech at the ground-breaking ceremony for the regional industrial factory construction in the county held last February are women of the county.

Though they went out to the station to repay the daily-growing benevolence of the Party, they found farming difficult as they hadn’t done it before.

However, they didn’t get disappointed but learned the farming processes one by one until late at night.

One night, they realized on their way home that an employee in charge of a field plot was sick and absent. So, they took care of the field till midnight.

They helped one another forward, thinking that the work to spruce up the native place is everybody’s business.

They tried to do as much work as they could.

Humble as they look, they keep in their hearts beautiful patriotic feelings of working with all conscience for the country and native place.

Mind for Country

Working class of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex devote their patriotic efforts to normalizing the iron and steel production on the high level. Among them are many retired persons who still defend the worksite including Myong Pyong Chol, Ri Sam Song, Kim Song Won, Mun Yong Il, Ri Ju Ok and Choe Sung U.

They might have spent the rest of life enjoying respect as they had devoted their all to the country. But their loyalty knows no senility; they are still working with younger generation.

When people express their concern about their health, they say that it is their biggest pride and honor to live as the eldest son of the country.

Indeed, the increased production at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex is associated with the ardent loyalty and patriotism of those people who regard it as their civic duty and conscience to devote themselves to the country till the last moment of life.
