Tears of Emotion Students Shed

It happened on the lunar New Year’s Day, 2012, when the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and had a souvenir picture taken with staff and students of the school.

Drawing near to a young student with a broad smile, he wiped tears away from his eyes and kindly said to him stop crying, asking if he was not cold.

After listening to his reply that he did not feel cold, the General Secretary held another student’s hands in his.

And he told a senior official of the school that they had to put on gloves as the students’ hands were cold.

His saying full of warm affection made the students sob more.

Even while he was going to the statue of President Kim Il Sung, he waved his hand to the staff and students who were cheering in tears.

Then his face clouded over.

Because he saw the students who stood putting their gloves off.

The respected General Secretary earnestly said to the officials to urge the students to put on their gloves as their hands were very cold.

Receiving his instructions, the students dropped tears of emotion over and over again.

Hope He Valued

In June of 2012 the respected General Secretary took part in the joint national meeting of the Korean Children’s Union (KCU) organizations held on the occasion of the 66th founding anniversary of the KCU and made a historic address. And he personally saw the concert with over 20 000 KCU delegates. At the end of the performance the respected General Secretary summoned the exemplary KCU members and asked them about their hopes for the future.

Some of them said that they were going to be a scientist or a doctor.

When a pupil said that he would join the People’s Army, the respected General Secretary wore a broad smile on his face and asked him again what he was going to be after the military service. Then the pupil answered with vigor that he would undergo military service all his life.

The respected General Secretary laughed a hearty laugh and said to the senior officials of the army that they should have a photo taken with the pupil once again in memory of learning about the admirable answer of the new generation.

Looking at the pupil, the respected General Secretary always wore a broad smile on his face.

Looking up to the fatherly Marshal, the pupil made a firm pledge to reliably defend the country with revolutionary arms in the future.
