On Day of Leaving Hospital

A few days ago, a woman Jang Ok Hwa living in Ryongbuk-dong, Taesong District, left the hospital, being congratulated by medical workers of the Pyongyang Municipal General Hospital No. 2.

It was common for patients to leave the hospital, but that day was a peculiar one for the medical workers, because they revived Jang at the crossroads of life and death.

Receiving bouquets from them, Jang was moved to tears.

They are the benevolent medical workers who showed all sorts of sincerity for Jang saying that there was no impossibility for them to restore her.

Among them are Yun Kyong Il, technical vice-director of the hospital, who led an ordinary woman to revival and Ra Ok Ryon, the doctor in charge of Jang.

Leaving the hospital amid the warm congratulations, she was full of gratitude to the most advantageous socialist system in the world.

Shortened Distance from Home to School 

There is a village in a place far away from the seat of Yonpho-ri, Manpho City.

The following happened there some months ago. One morning a mother was arousing her son from a sound sleep at her home.

"Wake up, quickly. You might be late for school."

Her little son, awakened, looked at her mother and the clock by turns and said he had enough time.

Then her mother said: "You have to go 10-odd ris for school. But for your early leaving, you could not arrive in time at… "

Her voice stopped dead.

And they exchanged laughs.

The parents in that village had sent their children to school early in the morning, as the school lay beyond a ridge. By the way, a new branch school was built in their village for 10-odd children.

The children’s way to school was shortened thus. It also reflects the genuine appearance of our style socialism which spares nothing for the posterity.
