Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, received a congratulatory letter from V. Putin, president of the Russian Federation, on Dec. 17.

In his letter, the Russian president extended the most sincere New Year greetings to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The talks between me and you held in Pyongyang in June put the Russia-DPRK relations onto a new and qualitative level, the letter said, and went on:

The treaty on the comprehensive strategic partnership, concluded according to the results of the talks, provided conditions for a fundamental expansion of beneficial bilateral cooperation in all major fields.

I am convinced that in the coming 2025 we will continue our joint work to implement this historic treaty more closely and further coordinate our efforts to cope with the threats and challenges of the present era.

This undoubtedly conforms to the fundamental interests of the friendly peoples of the Russian Federation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

I wish you and your intimates good health, happiness and success and all the citizens of the DPRK well-being and prosperity.
