The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Pang Ryon Hyang residing in people’s neighborhood unit No. 28, Jakdong-ri, Popdong County, Kangwon Province of the DPRK, on her 100th birthday.

Pang, born into a poor peasant’s family, had suffered humiliation and insults before national liberation. She came to enjoy a worthwhile life as a master of the country only after the country was liberated from the Japanese imperialist colonial rule.

During the Fatherland Liberation War, she took the lead in supporting the front as an official of the women’s union. She dedicated herself to postwar reconstruction out of patriotism and had worked hard until her retirement.

She brought up her eight children to be pillars of the country, adding lustre to her honourable title as a wartime meritorious person awarded by the Workers’ Party of Korea.
