Jangsusan Fold, 25 kilometers away southwest of the township of Jaeryong County in South Hwanghae Province, is a large fan-shaped fold rare to be seen in the world. It covers an area between 150 meters and 350 meters above the sea level and its bottom width is about 250 meters.

This fold visually shows the peculiar characteristics of the Mesozoic tectonic motion in our country and its shape.

Songchon Fold is about 16 kilometers away east of the township of Songchon County in South Phyongan Province. It is of significance in studying the shape and characteristics of fold structure.

Komdok Fold in Tanchon City of South Hamgyong Province has complicated superposed fold structure. This with ore-contain structure that includes the country’s leading large-scale lead-zinc ore deposit is of high economic and academic significance.

West Pyongyang Fold is about 500 meters away northwest of West Pyongyang Railway Station in Pyongyang Municipality. The fold shows the Taebo tectonic movement in the Mesozoic era as well as the change of stratum by tectogenesis.
