The officials and workers of Hwangju County put spurs to preparations for farming.

Since the beginning of this year, they have so far produced and taken out 1.5 times more home-made compost as against the same period of last year.

They also produced thousands of tons of slaked lime to improve hundreds of hectares of acid soil and finished repair of tractors and pumping power equipment and construction of tens of pumping stations. It made other unprecedented innovation in farming preparations.

In mid-January, lots of units in the county presented motor pumps, vinyl sheets, sprayers and the like in the medium and small farm implements show.

The atmosphere of assisting the countryside was further enlivened.

The county-level organs, factories and enterprises secured thousands of tons of urban manure to send it to farms.

The residents of the township area also took an active part in the production of compound organic fertilizer.

Those farms including Jangchon and Ryongchon farms completed the production of fermented compost "Sinyang No. 4" ahead of schedule and set high records in transportation of home-made compost.

The repair and maintenance of farm machines gather momentum.

Substantial successes are also witnessed in perfecting the irrigation system like clearing the waterway, irrigation structure project, etc.

Thanks to the devoted struggle of officials and working people in the county, the plan for farming preparations is carried out by over 120% on every index.
